YUKON AT4 IS NAMED FOUR WHEELER’S 2021 SUV OF THE YEAR

WE HAVE A WINNER
With an impressive blend of luxury, style and performance, the First Ever GMC Yukon AT4 is not only a highly attractive vehicle in the large SUV market — it’s an award-winner.

FOUR WHEELER recently named the Yukon AT4 its 2021 SUV of the Year, after a comprehensive, invite–only competition with other all–new or completely revised SUVs for the model year.

FOUR WHEELER
The competition, judged by representatives of the off–road industry, included controlled testing of the participants’ suspensions, acceleration time and braking distance. This was followed by a two–day trek in the Southern California desert that featured a loose–hill dirt climb, rock crawl and night driving to gauge lighting equipment.

Yukon AT4 scored high marks for its handling of the various terrains. In particular, it was cited for its approach and departure angles, and its available first-in-class Four-Corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, which adjusts ride heights to provide additional ground clearance.

It also scored style points for its unique Black leather seating surfaces with Brandy accents, high–clearance front bumper and front skid plate. The judges complimented the Yukon AT4’s comfortable seating and easy access to and from its rearmost row. They also appreciated the 10.2-inch multicolor touch screen on the GMC Information System.*

OFF–ROAD TECHNOLOGY
Two features singled out in the Yukon AT4’s SUV of the Year award were the vehicle’s available Active Response 4WD system and available Four–Corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension.

The Active Response 4WD system employs a variety of technical systems, including a two–speed transfer case, the Traction Select System and an electronic Limited Slip Differential (eLSD).

They work in collaboration: If the Traction Select System, for example, is adjusted for Off–Road Mode, the system optimizes powertrain calibrations, traction control settings and stability control — to help provide better handling and a more confident driving experience. The eLSD can also detect whether a wheel is slipping and, if so, can seamlessly send the optimal torque to the wheel with the most traction.

The Air Ride Adaptive Suspension allows you to select ride height by simply turning a dial and pushing a button: "Increased Ground Clearance" raises the vehicle one inch; "Maximum Ground Clearance" brings it up two inches (available in 4 LOW). The added height helps you and your Yukon AT4 navigate rough and uneven surfaces. The suspension also can adjust its stiffness to produce a smoother ride even on the rockiest terrain.
